San Francisco Holds the 2nd JDA Inter-School Basketball Tournament     February 17, 2012 is a red-letter day for sports enthusiasts in San Francisco. It’s all systems go for the holding of yet another exciting edition of the Joint Development for the Athlete (JDA) Inter-School Basketball Tournament. Participated in by all seven colleges and three secondary schools in San Francisco, the 2nd JDA inter-school basketball is one of the much anticipated events in the sporting calendar of the municipality.    
San Francisco… Caraga Region’s Most Child-Friendly Municipality Now it’s official, San Francisco is Caraga Region’s entry to the National Level for the Most Child-Friendly Municipality Award, after a thorough evaluation and validation process conducted last July 19, 2011 by members of the Regional Awards Committee (RAC).
MEDICAL AND DENTAL OUTREACH PROGRAM Close to a thousand residents of Barangay Alegria, San Francisco, Agusan del Sur trooped to their barangay gymnasium on August 20, 2011 to avail of the free medical and dental services. People of all size and shape availed of the free medical check-up, circumcision, pap smear, tooth extraction, blood pressure monitoring and medicine distribution during the event. But not all in the multitude are there for the free medical care, some opted to extend help by participating in the blood-letting activity which is simultaneously conducted in the venue.
LGU-San Francisco Launches its Official Website       For so long a time, the Local Government Unit of San Francisco has been attempting to establish a website which, with just a click, provides accurate, relevant and timely information not just for the people of San Francisco but of the entire world to easily browse. The long wait is over!  With the help of a grant extended by the Asia Foundation with support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to LGU-San Francisco, under its Transparent and Accountable Governance (TAG) Project, what we have been aspiring for so long has now become a reality.

A TOTAL CELEBRATION

September 19, 1900, Act No. 5, known as the Civil Service act entitled “An Act for the Establishment and Maintenance of an Efficient and Honest Civil Service in the Philippines Islands” was enacted. It started the concept of appointments and promotion in the government being made according to merit. Hence, every month of September, the whole nation celebrates the Civil Service Month. This year’s 111th Anniversary of Philippine Service has the theme “Championing R.A.C.E. Public Service Excellence at Full Speed”.

LGU-SAN FRANCISCO AGUSAN DEL SUR CELEBRATES 19TH NATIONAL CHILDREN’S MONTH

 
Proclamation Decree No. 26 dated September 30, 1993 declares the month of October as National Children’s Month in recognition of the Filipino children. The celebration aims to promote the 4 basic rights of every child, namely: SURVIVAL, DEVELOPMENT, PROTECTION and PARTICIPATION.
